Subject : Updated Resource: Biosafety Manual Template Guide
The biosafety team has released an updated Biosafety Manual Template Guide as a resource to support researchers in developing and maintaining laboratory-specific biosafety documentation. With this update, your lab Biosafety Manual may be created and stored electronically via an online folder accessible to all staff members or maintained in a physical binder at a central location.
This resource includes:
- Checklist for biosafety manual development
- Step-by-step instructions for creating your own laboratory-specific manual
- Training recommendations to support laboratory personnel
Laboratories with an existing biosafety manual should annually review biosafety documents to ensure consistency with their work and are encouraged to reference this optional resource during their update period. This resource may also serve as a useful guide for newly established research locations.
